The Osa Okunbo Foundation (TOOF) is a movement. A force dedicated to unlocking the power of creativity and making sure it is seen, heard, and valued. We stand as a bridge between raw talent and the opportunities that allow it to flourish—because we believe that creativity is more than just expression; it is influence, impact, and legacy. Through funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships, we give creatives the tools they need to turn their vision into something tangible, something lasting.
We exist to nurture, empower, and elevate. Our mission is to create a world where creatives have the resources, access, and support they need to thrive. We see a future where African creativity is recognized as a global force—one that shapes industries, shifts narratives, and drives cultural and economic growth.
At TOOF, we don’t just support creatives—we invest in their futures. TOOF strengthens the creative sector through three key pillars:
Championing artists through exhibitions, residencies, and grants while fostering a sustainable collector network for African art.
Investing in filmmakers, screenwriters, and producers, providing funding, mentorship, and global industry access to tell bold, authentic stories.
Equipping musicians with mentorship, recording grants, and industry connections to help them scale and reach wider audiences.
Great storytelling doesn’t just entertain—it stays with you. God Knows Best, a Nigerian short film, is one such story. As Executive Producer, TOOF played a key role in bringing this moving film to life. Set in Lagos, it follows Simi, a young widow who takes over her late husband’s bus, navigating a world that doubts her at every turn. With its poetic storytelling and immersive cinematography, the film highlights the quiet resilience of women who refuse to back down. TOOF believes in the power of film to spark conversation and shift narratives, and this project is a testament to our commitment to championing bold, authentic African stories.
Art has the power to shape culture, and TOOF is committed to ensuring that artists have the space to do just that. Through our sponsorship of the +234 Art Fair, we created the Patrons’ Lounge, a curated space featuring Osa Okunbo’s private collection, while commissioning a sculpture by artist Rubianna Michael, unveiled at the fair. Beyond the exhibition, TOOF facilitated conversations on art, culture, and the role of patronage, with Osa Okunbo and Friends of TOOF leading key discussions. By investing in platforms like +234 Art Fair, we’re strengthening the creative economy—one that thrives when artists are seen, supported, and celebrated.
Every great film starts with a story. TOOF, in collaboration with Write Good Stories, invested in the next generation of screenwriters through the TOOF x Write Good Stories Writers Workroom. Providing mentorship and a series of hands-on workshops, this program gave writers the support they need to take their scripts from concept to completion. Three standout writers from the workroom received funding to develop their screenplays, which will go into production. Because stories shape the world—and we want to make sure the right ones get told.
We invest in the creative economy by providing funding, mentorship, and access to networks that help creatives scale their work and careers.
Through training programs, incubators, and workshops, we equip creatives with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to thrive in an evolving global landscape.
We champion artistic expression, storytelling, and cultural preservation by supporting projects that push creative boundaries and celebrate heritage.
TOOF is more than a foundation—it’s a community of change makers, visionaries, and culture shapers. Here’s how you can be part of the movement
